Detailed Solution

Gonadotropin-Releasing Hormone (GnRH), produced by the hypothalamus, control the ovarian and uterine cycles. GnRH stimulates the anterior pituitary gland to release Follicle-Stimulating Hormone (FSH) and Luteinising Hormone (LH). FSH causes follicular growth within the ovaries, while LH further promotes the development of ovarian follicles and triggers ovulation. This hormonal cascade helps in regulation of the menstrual cycle, facilitating the maturation of eggs, preparation of the uterine lining, and, ultimately, fertility or menstruation.
