The reacting power of the human eye to light waves of different wavelengths varies from person to person and also varies with age. The normal human eye is most sensitive at a wavelength of 555 nm, which corresponds to the yellow-green light of the visible spectrum. Yellow-green light at this wavelength produces the impression of the highest brightness compared to light at other wavelengths.
