Detailed Solution

Golden Quadrilateral is the six-lane super highway project undertaken by the government of India. The major cities of India are connected by the road network known as the Golden Quadrilateral Super Highways. It is a network that connects the key areas between the four mega cities of India - Delhi in the north, Chennai in the south, Mumbai in the west, and Kolkata in the east. Several industrial and tourist areas like Ahmedabad, Surat, Bengaluru, Kanpur, Vijayawada, Pune, Ajmer, Visakhapatnam, Agra, Udaipur, Gandhinagar, Mathura, and Allahabad are a part of this huge network extending for about 5846 km. NH 44 and NH 19 are a part of the Kolkata-Delhi interlinking. NH 48 forms a part of the Delhi-Mumbai and Mumbai-Chennai networks, while NH 16 is a part of the Chennai-Kolkata network.
