The social groups that came together in the First War of Independence were farmers, landowners and priests.
The general populace joined this uprising, including farmers, landowners, Muslims, Hindus of all castes, and traders. Along with the minor kingdoms of Rajputana, the more prominent princely rulers of Hyderabad, Travancore, Kashmir, and Mysore abstained from supporting the uprising. Northern India saw the rebellion spread to numerous locations, including Kanpur, Lucknow, Jhansi, Gwalior, and Bihar. The revolution included numerous Indian princes and kings. The Rani of Jhansi, Tantia Tope, Nana Saheb, Kunwar Singh, etc., are among the most significant individuals. On May 11, the revolutionary soldiers arrived in Delhi, the Mughal Emperor's capital. After taking the city, they crowned Bahadur Shah Zafar, the Mughal Emperor, as the ruler of Hindustan.
