Detailed Solution

Wt. of urea = 17g

vol. of methanol = 100ml

Density of methanol = 0.792g/ml

Weight of methanol = 79.2g

VP of CH3OH = 96mm of Hg

VP of sol. of urea in CH3OH =?

For a dilute sol.

                      \frac{P^o-P}{P^o}=\frac{n_2}{n_1+n_2}

                   \frac{96-P}{96}=\frac{(\frac{17}{60})}{(\frac{79.2}{32})+(\frac{17}{60})}

       \frac{96-P}{96}=0.103

      P = 96 - 9.85 =86.15mm of Hg
