Detailed Solution

Vande Mataram was composed by Bankim Chandra Chatterjee. "I praise the motherland, Mother," says the title "Vande Mataram". This song was initially sung in a political setting by Rabindranath Tagore at the 1896 session of the Indian National Congress, and it was significant in the Indian independence cause. In 1905, it became a well-known marching hymn for political activism and the Indian independence movement. India's Constituent Assembly, on January 24, 1950, declared "Vande Mataram" a national song. On the occasion, India's first President, Rajendra Prasad, declared that the Vande Matram song should be honoured in the same way as the country's national anthem, "Jana Gana Mana."
