Detailed Solution

The southern portion of the Western Coast is referred to as the Malabar Coast. There are three distinct portions of the Western Coastal Plains, and the central region is referred to as the Karavali or Kanara. Konkan is the name for the northernmost portion of the Western Coast. The Western Coastal Plain is unsuitable for agriculture, except the Southern Part, or Malabar Coast. The Western Coastal Plains are somewhat restricted. Mountain ridges cut through the western coastal plain. Small rivers in the Western Coastal Plains do not generate deltas. The two coastal plains converge at Kanyakumari, the southernmost point of the Indian mainland. The western coastal plain is between the eastern ghats and the Bay of Bengal.
