Detailed Solution

The Soviet Red Army inflicted a crushing and humiliating defeat on Germany at Stalingrad. During the Second World war, Hitler found an opportunity to expand over Eastern Europe. It was already opposing British aerial bombing on the western front. Without analysing the situation, Hilter attacked the Soviet Union on the Eastern Front in 1941. This event is considered a historical blunder that turned the tables. The Soviet Red Army was much organised, and it inflicted a crushing defeat on the German Army at Stalingrad. The defeat was considered humiliating because the German soldiers were forced to retreat until they reached Berlin.
