The SPA was a political alliance. The SPA stands for Seven Party Alliance which was set up in Nepal, a neighbouring northern country of India. It was a political alliance that played a significant role in restoring democracy in the country, which had an absolute monarchy. King Gyanendra in the country had established a monarchy and demolished all the democratic setups that existed. The SPA demanded restoring democracy, a democratic government and the Parliament to be set up again. The king had to bow down to the demands of the SPA by the end of the year 2006. Democracy was restored in Nepal.
