Detailed Solution

The speed of a car weighing 1500 kg increases 40 m/to 50 m/s. The change in momentum will be 15000 kg m/s.
Given that,
Mass of the car (m) = 1500 kg
Initial velocity u= 40 m/
Final velocity v= 50 m/s
From the relation of momentum, mass and velocity we have
Momentum = mass × velocity
Initial momentum = 1500 × 40
Final momentum = 1500 × 50
Change in momentum = initial momentum – final momentum
=>= 1500 × (40-50)
=>= 15000 kg m/s
