The Spinning Jenny was devised in the year 1764 by the English inventor James Hargreaves. It was an important invention in the industrial revolution. With the introduction of the machine in England two changes were brought; first, the process of spinning became faster, and second, the labor demand saw a significant decline. The Spinning Jenny was first introduced in the woolen industry in England. But the introduction of the new machinery caused severe conflicts. These conflicts were inflicted by the rise in fear of unemployment among the laborers. For instance, the women who had mastered hand spinning and were employed in the woolen industry saw the machines as their competitors with the potential of swallowing up their jobs.
