Detailed Solution

The state with the highest percentage of protected forests is Madhya Pradesh.
There are three different kinds of forest types in India:- Reserved Forests, Protected Forests and Unclassed Forests. Madhya Pradesh has the largest permanent forest reserves, with ( 75%) of total forest land. Other necessary states with protected forests are- Odisha, Rajasthan, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Haryana and Bihar.
Both the protected and reserved forests are also called permanent forest estates. They protect the precious goods obtained from forests, such as Timber and other forest products. Because some people illegally trade them for their benefit.
The government of India owns and manages the forest under the Forest Department established back in the colonisation time (1864).
