Detailed Solution

Euglenoids include flagellate Protista of fresh water and damp soils. Euglenoids have both plant and animal characteristics. They are free living found in fresh water ponds and ditches or in the damp soil. Euglenoids are characterized by absence of cell wall, but they contain a flexible pellicle made up of protein. They have two flagella a short and a long one. Though they are photosynthetic in the presence of sunlight, when light is not available they behave like heterotrophs.
