Detailed Solution

The storming of the Bastille marked the beginning of the French Revolution.
An enraged and aggressive mob invaded the Bastille, a state prison on the east side of Paris, on July 14, 1789. The jailhouse began to represent the monarchy's autocratic control. The massive ammunition supplies kept inside the prison walls were demanded by the rioters when it was attacked. The mob charged and eventually took control of the structure after the prison governor refused to obey. The governor was taken away and killed. The French Revolution and the toppling of King Louis XVI were both sparked by the storming of the Bastille. The victory of the revolutionaries inspired commoners all over France to rebel against the aristocracy who had long controlled them.
