Detailed Solution

The strength of a magnetic field due to a solenoid can be increased by increasing the number of turns in the solenoid, increasing the current in the solenoid and winding the solenoid around a magnetic material.
A cylindrical coil of wire is a solenoid. When a current flows through it, it behaves like a bar magnet with opposite poles at the ends. If we want to increase the magnetic field in the solenoid, the following measures have to be taken:-
Increase the number of turns per unit length. The more the number of turns in a solenoid, the stronger the magnetic field.
Increase current: The stronger the magnetic field produced when, the larger the current passed through the solenoid.
Winding the solenoid around a magnetic material: Using soft iron as the core in the solenoid increases the magnetic field strength.
