Detailed Solution

The style of architecture where a horizontal beam is placed across two vertical columns is called Trabeate.
This style enjoyed popularity between the eighth and thirteenth centuries. Trabeate is called “corbelled” and was widely employed in constructing mosques, temples, tombs, and structures attached to large stepped-wells. As early as the seventh century, architects adopted the trabeate system to add more doors, rooms, and windows to buildings by laying horizontal beams across two vertical columns. However, arcuate was a different architectural form that became prevalent from the twelfth century.
