Let the present age of manish = x & savita = y
x+y = 31……(i)
x−3 = 4(y−3)…….(ii)
or, x−3 = 4y−12
or, x = 4y−9
Putting in (i) , we get
5y−9 = 31
Or, 5y = 40
Or, y = 8
x =31−8
or, x = 23
then, Present age of manish = 23years
and Present age of savita = 8 years
