Detailed Solution

The Sun is a luminous object.
A luminous object is an object which can emit light on its own. Sun is a star that consists of burning material like fuel; due to these reactions sun can emit heat in the form of light. So we can say that a sun is a luminous object. But the earth and moon cannot emit any light on their own. They are called non-luminous bodies.
