Detailed Solution

Given equations are,
2x+3y=46                     ......(1) 3x+5y=74                     ......(2)
Multiplying equation 1 by 3 and equation 2 by 2, we get,
6x+9y=138                       ...... 3 6x+10y=148                      ......(4)
Subtracting equation 4 from equation 3, we get,
6x  + 9y = 138  6x  + 10y = 148   (-)    (-)           (-) y= 10 y=10
Substituting the value of y = 10 in equation 2 to find the value of x, we get,
3x+5y=74 3x+5 10 =74 3x+50=74 3x=7450 3x=24 x= 24 3 x=8   Hence, the solution of the given system of equations is = 8   and y = 10.
Thus, option 3 is correct.
