Detailed Solution

The tenure of the members of the Rajya Sabha is six years. Although the members of the upper house can resign and be replaced every six years, the upper house is not liable for dissolution. There are a maximum of 250 seats available in the Rajya Sabha. A total of 238 of these members are chosen, and 12 are designated. This is stated in Article 80 of the Indian Constitution. Two hundred thirty-eight members are chosen by state and union territory legislatures using single transferable votes through Open Voting utilizing a ballot mechanism. The choice of 12 individuals for their contributions to art, literature, science, and social work is up to the President of India.
