Detailed Solution

The tenure of the Rajya Sabha is six years.
Since the Rajya Sabha is a perpetual House, it cannot be disbanded. However, one-third of the Rajya Sabha's members retire every two years. For six years, the Rajya Sabha has been in session. As of 2021, it can have a maximum of 245 members, 233 of whom are selected by state and territory legislatures in open elections using single transferable votes. The president may appoint twelve members for their humanities, sciences, literature, and social welfare achievements.
