Detailed Solution

The term 'Adivasi' means original inhabitants. Adivasis, "original inhabitants," are communities that have lived and frequently continue to live near forests. Adivasis are concentrated in Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Gujarat, Jharkhand, Meghalaya, Madhya Pradesh, Tripura, etc. Around 8% of India's population is Adivasi, and several of the country's major mining and industrial centres are in Adivasi districts, including Jamshedpur, Rourkela, Bokaro, and Bhilai. The Adivasis are not homogeneous; India has approximately 500 different Adivasi groups. Odisha, for example, is home to more than 60 other tribal communities. Because of their differences from mainstream society, Adivasi societies are frequently marginalised.
