Detailed Solution

The term "liberalism" is derived from the Latin root liber, which means "free."
National unity ideas were closely associated with liberalism ideology in early-nineteenth-century Europe. For the new middle classes, liberalism meant individual liberty and equality before the law. On the political front, liberals demanded constitutionalism and the formation of nation-states. The liberals emphasised the concept of representative government based on popular consent. They supported popular sovereignty, press freedom, and free association.
On the social front, the liberals emphasised equality before the law, individual liberty, and the inviolability of private property. They desired the abolition of social hierarchies and aristocratic privileges.
On the economic front, the liberals mandated market uniformity and support structures for trade and commerce. They advocated for the elimination of static interference in societal economic life.
