Detailed Solution

The term Rajput is derived from Rajaputra.
Between the seventh and the fourteenth centuries, a group of people who became significant were the Rajputs, a name derived from "Rajaputra," the son of a ruler. The word was used more broadly to describe a group of warriors who claimed to be members of the Kshatriya caste.  The title covered not only kings and chiefs but also the warriors and military leaders who served in the armies of many emperors throughout the subcontinent.
