The third type of government in Belgium is known as community government. For a very long time, the country of Belgium saw tensions among various linguistic communities. To preserve harmony, the country's leaders tried to accommodate all these groups within the democratic system. As a part of their unique arrangement, they allowed the existence of a third kind of government apart from the central and state governments. This government was called "community government".
