Detailed Solution

Rabi, Kharif and Zaid are the three major cropping seasons.
1)      Rabi crops are planted in winter from October to December and gathered in summer from April to June. Significant Rabi crops are wheat, grain, peas, gram, and mustard. In the north and north-western parts like Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu, Kashmir, Uttarakhand, and Uttar Pradesh rabi crops are grown extensively.
2)      Kharif crops are developed with the beginning of rainstorms in various parts of the nation, and these are gathered in September-October. Significant yields cultivated during this season are paddy, maize, jawar, bajra, tur (arhar), moong, urad, cotton, jute, groundnut, and soya bean.
3)      There is a short season known as the Zaid season throughout the mid-year months. A portion of the harvests delivered during Zaid is watermelon, muskmelon, cucumber vegetables, and grain crops. Sugarcane requires nearly 12 months to develop.
