The total length of the coastline of mainland India including the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, is 7516.6 kilometres.
The area of India is about 2.4 per cent of the total geographical area. It has a land boundary of 15,200 kilometres and a vast coastline. The coastline is spread along nine states and four union territories. It is extended to Gujarat, Maharashtra, Goa, Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Odisha, and West Bengal. Gujarat has the largest coastline boundary and shares 23 percent of it, followed by Andhra Pradesh.
