Detailed Solution

The treaty of Allahabad was signed after the battle of Buxar in 1765. This treaty was signed between the Mughal emperor Shah Alam II and Robert Clive, the chief commander of Britishers and then governor of Bengal. Because in the battle of buxar, the Indian ruler Shah Alam II, Mir Qasim, Balwant Singh and Shuj-ud-daula were defeated by Robert clive and his army, hence this treaty was signed by Shah Alam II to grant permission to take Diwani right (to collect the tax from Bengal, Bihar and Orissa ) the British East India Company.
