Detailed Solution

The Treaty of Vienna was signed in 1815 to undo changes in Europe during the Napoleonic wars.
Most European governments fought to defend their positions against revolutionary ideologies after Napoleon Bonaparte's defeat. Since they cherished tradition and established institutions and argued for gradual rather than dramatic change, they changed their policies to reflect a conservative attitude. They did not, however, desire a complete return to pre-revolutionary times because they believed that modernity might benefit the aforementioned antiquated institutions. The Treaty of Vienna was ratified in 1815 after Napoleon's death to reverse the changes brought by his wars.
