Detailed Solution

The Parthasarathy Temple is one of the oldest temples in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. Dedicated to Lord Krishna in his role as Parthasarathy (the charioteer of Arjuna during the Mahabharata war), the temple was originally built in the 8th century CE by the Pallavas. Over time, it has seen contributions from the Chola and Vijayanagara dynasties. The temple is notable for its gopurams, sculptures, and religious significance among Vaishnavites. It is also one of the 108 Divya Desams mentioned in Tamil Alvar hymns. Located in Triplicane, it remains a key cultural and spiritual landmark in the bustling city of Chennai.
