The Tungabhadra Dam, also known as Pampa Sagar, is a dam built across the Tungabhadra River in Hospet, Karnataka's Vijayanagara district. It is a multipurpose dam that provides irrigation, electricity generation, flood control, and other services. When construction began, it was a joint project of the erstwhile Hyderabad state and erstwhile Madras Presidency; after completion in 1953, it became a joint project of Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh.
