Detailed Solution

The two different meanings of sangha were organisation and a form of government. The first meaning was political, while the second was religious. The initial meaning of sangha was the form of government used in the mahajanapada. In the later Vedic period, the sangha also belonged to wealthy people, such as kings and traders. However, the second meaning of sangha is a group of Buddhists who leave their houses and live humble lives together. The similarity between the two meanings of sangha was that it was a group or organisation.
