The two houses of the Parliament are the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha.
The President, Council of States (Rajya Sabha), and House of the People (Lok Sabha) comprise the Union's legislative body- the Parliament. According to the Constitution, the Rajya Sabha will comprise 250 members, not to exceed 238 representatives from the States and Union Territories, and the President will choose 12 members. The Lok Sabha comprises individuals elected through direct elections using adult suffrage. The maximum number of members for the Lower House is 552.
