Detailed Solution

Mahatma Gandhi and Dr B.R. Ambedkar were the two leaders between whom the Poona Pact was signed.
At the second Round Table Conference, Dr B.R. Ambedkar, who in 1930 organised the Dalits into the Depressed Classes Association, disagreed with Mahatma Gandhi by calling for separate electorates for the Dalits. Gandhiji started a fast until their death when the British government agreed to Ambedkar's demand. In his opinion, separate voting districts for Dalits would hinder their integration into society. In the end, Ambedkar decided with Gandhiji and signed the Poona Pact of September 1932. It allowed the Schedule Castes to reserve seats in federal and provincial legislative councils but had to be chosen by the public as a whole.
