Detailed Solution

The two rivers worshipped as goddesses are Beas and Sutlej.
Some hymns in Rigveda take the form of dialogues. This is a section of one such hymn, a dialogue between a sage named Vishvamitra and two rivers (the Beas and the Sutlej) who were revered as goddesses. Vishvamitra asked the rivers to clear a path for them to cross safely. He defined the streams that flowed down from the mountains as two quick horses and two sparkling cows licking their calves. Through the intensity of Indra, they move like chariots to the ocean. They were both brimming with water and wished to join forces. The river responded that they couldn't stop because they were so full of water, so they moved along the path the divine beings had carved out for them. Finally, the streams tuned into Vishwamitra's petitions so that he could cross safely.
