The United Fruit Company was founded by America. Richard Harding, in 1896 wrote that the Honduras of Central America were like a gang of semi-barbarians who lived in a beautiful and captivatingly furnished house, which they had no clue how to use or could not recognise the possibilities of its advantages or comfort. So this is an indication of how the colonists justified their conquests. Three years after Harding shared his ideas, America founded the United Fruit Company. It became so influential over the governments of these countries that they came to be called the ‘Banana Republics.’
