The upward push of water on a submerged object is called a buoyant force.
The upward force on an object immersed in a fluid is the buoyant force. Its unit is the same as that of force, i.e. newton (N).
The magnitude of the buoyant force can be found by using Archimedes’ principle. According to this principle, when an object is completely or partially immersed in a liquid, it experiences a buoyant force or upthrust equal to the weight of the liquid displaced by the object.
