Detailed Solution

The use of a double dome and park-like surroundings are typical of the features of the structure constructed under the rule of  Shah Jahan. While the delicate detail in Shah Jahan's decorative work has rarely been surpassed, symmetry and balance between a building's parts were always stressed. The preferred building material was white marble. The palace fortress at Delhi, which was started in 1638, was the second major construction project of Shah Jahan's reign after the Taj Mahal. The Red Sandstone Pillared Diwan-i-Am ("Hall of Public Audience") and the so-called Diwan-i-Khas ("Hall of Private Audience"), which housed the renowned Peacock Throne, are two of its notable structures.
