Given an equation 4 + 5(p – 1) =34.
For solving the equation, we will keep p on one side and rest all numbers on the other side.
First, we have to move 4 from L.H.S to R.H.S.

5 p – 1 = 34 − 4 5 p – 1 = 30

Now, we have to remove the coefficient of p. So, we will divide both sides with 5.

5 p – 1 ÷ 5= 30 ÷ 5 55 p – 1 = 305 p − 1 = 6

Move (-1) from L.H.S to R.H.S.
