Detailed Solution

The "Vande Mataram" song was composed by Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay.
"Vande Mataram", a hymn to the motherland, was written by Bankim Chandra Chatterjee, also known as Chattopadhyay. This poem (song or hymn) was written in highly Sanskritised Bengali (meaning in a high-level Sanskrit language with Bengali) in 1870. This poem was included in his famous book (Bengali novel) Anandmath, published in 1882. Rabindranath Tagore first sang the hymn in 1896 at the session of the Indian National Congress. It became a famous marching song for political activism and the Indian freedom movement in 1905. After the independence of India on January 24, 1950, the constituent assembly adopted "Vande Mataram" as the national song of India.
