The nature of the motion of an object moving zig-zag in the velocity-time graph is non uniform acceleration.
A downwards straight line is the slope of the velocity time graph of an object moving with uniform decreasing velocity and uniform acceleration. The straight downward slope indicates that the velocity decreases with uniform acceleration, i.e. retardation. Conversely, the zigzag line of the graph's slope indicates that the object is moving at a non-uniform velocity.
