Detailed Solution

The distance traveled in 15 seconds by both will be given by area under curve.

For car, s1=1/2 × 15 × 45

              s1=337.5m

For scooter, s2 = 15 × 30

                    s2 = 450

s1−s2 = 112.5m

Suppose after time t, they will meet, then distance traveled by both of them will be equal.

30t = 1/2 × 15 × 45 + 45 × (t − 15)

30t = 337.5 + 45t − 675

15t = 337.5

t = 22.5s
