The Vienna Congress was held in 1815. To reach a deal for Europe, their top representatives gathered in Vienna. The Congress's host was Duke Metternich, the chancellor of Austria. The Treaty of Vienna was drafted in 1815 to rectify Napoleon's changes to Europe. In France, the Bourbon dynasty was reinstated. During the French Revolution, they were overthrown. As a result, Napoleon's seized areas that France formerly held were lost. In addition, some states were established along the French frontier to stop future expansion. So, in the north, the kingdom of the Netherlands, which encompassed Belgium, was established, while in Piedmont, Genoa was added.
