Detailed Solution

The weight of an object increases when we move from the center of the earth to the surface of the earth.
Weight of an object at a depth h from the earth’s surface is given as
Wh = mgh
Where m=  mass of the object
            gh=  acceleration due to gravity at a depth h from the earth’s surface
The formula of acceleration due to gravity at a depth h from the earth’s surface is given as
gh= g(1-hR) Where h=  depth at which acceleration due to gravity has to be found
At the center of the earth, h=R, and as we move from the center to the earth's surface, the value of h decreases, due to which the value of gh increases.
Hence, the weight of an object increases when we move from the center of the earth to the surface of the earth.
