Detailed Solution

Given the weights (in kg.) of 15, students of a class are 38, 42, 35, 37, 45, 50, 32, 43, 43, 40, 36, 38, 43, 38, and 47.

By arranging the above data, we can write it as:

32, 35, 36, 37, 38, 38, 38, 40, 42, 43, 43, 43, 45, 47, 50.

The mode can be defined as the number that occurs the most number of times.

Here, 38 and 43, both occur the maximum of 3 times.

Thus, Mode = 38, 43

Now, the number of observations (n) = 15(odd)

Median =(n+12)th  observation

Median =15+12th observation

Median=162th observation

→ Median =8th observation

Median = 40

Hence, Mode = 38, 43 and Median = 40
