Detailed Solution

The Kannad, a western coastal region between Goa and the Karnataka region of Mangalore, is located south of Goa. Belts of slender coastal strips, with the Arabian Sea to the west and the Bay of Bengal to the east, encircle the Peninsular Plateau. The western coast, a small plain between the Western Ghats and the Arabian Sea, is separated into three pieces. The northern section is known as Konkan, the middle area as Kannad, and the southern section is known as the Malabar Coast.
