The Western part of the Northern Plain is referred to as the Punjab Plains. Punjab plain was formed by the Indus and its tributaries are in Pakistan. Around 35,000 square miles (91,000 km2) make up the plain, including the Indian states of Punjab and Haryana and the Pakistani province of Punjab.
