The White Revolution of India is also known as Operation Flood.
The White Revolution was started at the village level to increase the production of milk, which can increase the employment rate in rural areas. After the independence of India, the green revolution was also introduced by the government of India for grain production. After this success, the government of India decided to launch the White Revolution, in which animal husbandry was given utmost importance and aimed to make India the largest and self-dependent producer of milk in the world. This not only helped in generating employment but also helped in reducing the malpractices of traders and merchants because, after this revolution, the price of milk also became reasonable and ideal for selling.
