Detailed Solution

The word ‘stupa’ means mound.
Stupas come in various shapes and sizes, including tall, round, large, and small, but they all share certain qualities. Typically, a relic casket is positioned in the heart or centre of the stupa. It may include the physical remains of the Buddha or his followers (such as teeth, bones, or ashes) and the things they used, precious stones and coins. A baked or mud bricklayer is then placed on top of the casket. Carved stone slabs are sporadically placed over the dome-like structure. Around the stupa is a frequently laid path known as the pradakshina patha, which has a railing around it.
