Detailed Solution

The yak, shaggy-horned wild ox and the Tibetan antelope are found in Ladakh.
Ladakh is a union territory formed in 2019, along with Jammu and Kashmir. Bordered by Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Tibet, and parts of Pakistan, the union territory extends from the Siachen glacier in the Karakoram Range to the Great Himalayas in the north-south direction. With high altitudes, flora and fauna in Ladakh are very few. There are just about 1250 plant species here. It is home to the endangered Tibetan antelope. The animal is poached for its wool, the finest natural fibre known for its lightweight and warmth. Yaks are common in the mountainous regions of Ladakh and are used for carrying heavy loads across the hilly mountains. The wild ox is also a prominent species in these freezing, high altitudes.
